TRAINEE LICENSE

Exam Qualification

REQUIRED EDUCATION (QUALIFICATION)
A minimum of 90 hours of appraisal related education covering the specific topics required by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB), with at least 15 hours of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

STATE TRAINEE EXAMINATION
4 HOURS
100 QUESTIONS
GRADE of 75 to PASS*
*Graded on a point system. E.g., One question could be weighted for 1 point another for 5 points. Therefore a point grade must be achieved not a percentage based on total amount of questions answered.

TO USE LICENSE:
Must work under the technical supervision of a licensed appraiser. May assist on any appraisal within the scope of practice of the supervising appraiser.

The Course
Although an entry-level text, all of the appraisal related topics required by OREA for appraisal licensing and certification have been included.

Assignments and Enrichment Exercises
Successful completion of this course requires completion of 15 Quiz Assignments and Enrichment Exercise.

Course Final Examination
Successful completion of the course requires the student to pass an open-book final examination of 100 multiple choice questions with a minimum grade of 70%. The examination must be taken under supervision by someone appointed by the school.

The Course

The course is based on a 477-page textbook "Real Estate Principles in California". The course provides an excellent introduction and overview of real estate which includes the field of appraising.

Assignments and Enrichment Exercises
The student is required to complete 15 reading assignments and 15 chapter quizzes of 10 questions each. The quizzes are sent to the school for grading (70% passing grade) and returned with the answers. In addition to these assignments, students are required to complete 3 exercises consisting of two essays and one assignment containing 25 math problems with multiple-choice answers.

Course Final Examination
Successful completion of the course requires the student to pass a closed-book final examination of 100 multiple choice questions requiring a minimum grade of 70% to pass. The examination must be taken under supervision by someone appointed by the school.
