Part Of California History In 1941, Saul Grabstein, at the time the Chief Advisor to the California Insurance Commissioner, saw an opportunity to serve the rapidly expanding real estate market and opened the first Real Estate License Exam Preparation School in Northern California. He named it the San Francisco School Of Real Estate. In 1945, Saul helped his nephew, Jerry Schwartz open the Oakland School Of Real Estate. In 1975, Jerry’s son, Don Schwartz our current owner and chief instructor, renamed the school...The CALIFORNIA SCHOOL OF REAL ESTATE and expanded their program STATEWIDE.
